This page describes how stantyan.com handles personal data, browser storage, and third-party services. It should be read together with the consent controls available from the footer on every page.

Stan Tyan operates this website. Contact details are available on the contact page and in the impressum.
What this site stores in your browser
The site stores a small amount of browser data to keep the experience consistent and to remember consent choices. This includes:
- a theme preference stored in session storage
- consent preferences stored in local storage
Essential storage is always active because it is required for core site behavior. Optional categories remain off unless you enable them.
Analytics
If you opt into analytics, this site loads PostHog to measure pageviews, navigation, and general product usage. Analytics traffic is routed through the first-party subdomain p.stantyan.com and then forwarded to the PostHog EU service at eu.posthog.com.
PostHog is loaded only after analytics consent is granted. You can change that choice at any time through the site's consent preferences.
Contact form
When you submit the contact form, the site processes the information you enter: name, email address, subject, and message.
The form also uses Cloudflare Turnstile to reduce automated spam. Turnstile may process technical request data such as IP address and browser signals to perform that check.
After successful verification, the message is sent through Resend so it can be delivered to the site owner by email.
Embedded third-party content
Some pages may offer third-party embeds such as Tableau Public. Those embeds are blocked by default and are loaded only if you enable the external media category in the consent manager. Once enabled, the third-party provider may receive technical request data as if you had visited that provider directly.
Comments and accounts
Public comments and user accounts are not currently enabled on this site.
Who receives data
Depending on which features you use, data may be processed by these service providers:
- PostHog for consent-based analytics
- Cloudflare Turnstile for contact-form abuse protection
- Resend for contact-form email delivery
- Tableau Public for optional embedded dashboards
Retention
Consent choices stay in your browser until you clear them or replace them with a new decision. Contact form messages may be retained for as long as needed to handle correspondence and related record-keeping. Analytics retention depends on the active PostHog project settings.
Your rights
If you want to request access, correction, or deletion of personal data that you have sent through this site, use the contact page. Some data may still need to be retained where required for security, legal, or operational reasons.
Updates
This privacy page may be revised as the site changes. The current implementation uses consent-managed analytics, a protected contact form, and optional third-party embeds.
